Things You Don't Grow Out Of

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

I cannot wait until Saturday gets here & we head up North on I-45, East on 34, & North on 148, where we will end up in the great town of Crandall-population 4,000... no red lights, three restaurants, one Dairy Queen, 7 or 8 churches, and a place I call home.  I was born & raised in Crandall; I lived in the same house for 18 years.  I can drive the backroads of Kaufman County with my eyes closed!

Gonna take it back to the old school.....

7th grade drill team-Jr. Gold Dusters

Sophomore Year-Gold Dusters

I won't bored you with anymore pics from life in Crandall, but I will give you the lyrics to the song that is my theme this weekend.  If you haven't heard it, well, it's amazing!

Things You Don't Grow Out Of
By: The Lost Trailers

Still Love the smell of mamas house when somethings cookin on the stove

Still hug her neck when its time to go, leavins always tough
Oh, theres some things you dont grow out of

I made a name here in this town with my right arm underneath the lights
And the trophies take me back to those Friday nights
I cant bring myself to box em up, yeah, theres some things you dont grow out of

Like Your mamas love your biggest dream that little town you had to leave
And all of those sweet memories of growing up wild and free
The Sunday morning ringing bells, the preachers words, the way it felt
And to this day I get my help from up above, yeah, theres some things you dont grow out of
Im older now and Ive seen some things, learned that life can sure be mean
But I try not to let the world rub off on me, I remember where I come from
Cause theres some things you dont grow out of

Like the lessons learned from the time you spent with your grandpa just you and him
The innocence of another time I still go back there in my mind to Sunday morning ringing bells
The preachers words, the way it felt and to this day I get my help from up above
Yeah, theres some things you don’t grow out of
Yeah, theres some things you don’t grow out of

Like Your mamas love your biggest dream that little town you had to leave
And all of those sweet memories of growing up wild and free
The Sunday morning ringing bells, the preachers words, the way it felt
And to this day I get my help from up above, yeah, theres some things you dont grow out of
Im older now and Ive seen some things, learned that life can sure be mean
But I try not to let the world rub off on me, I remember where I come from
Cause theres some things you dont grow out of

Here are three people I will never grow out of....
Abby, my best friend since 6th grade, Momma, & Daddy
I'll add a 4th person, who wasn't around when they took this pic, but it's my hubby, Matt.

What are some things you won't ever grow out of???
