Week 38

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

Well the Dr. moved our due date back to Dec. 29th because Miss Emma is measuring a week behind & also because I don't seem to be making any progress.  I've been dilated to 1 cm since the end of week 36, however we are beginning to thin out!  YAY!  The Dr. said we shouldn't expect her early, so we still have a few weeks ahead of us.  However, I believe that the good Lord is in control and this child will come whenever He is ready for her.  I'm praying it's sooner rather than later, but I also believe that He is trying to teach me patience, so we shall see.

Not sleeping much these days.  Sunday night I didn't go to bed until around 3am & was wide awake at 7:30am.  Then last night I woke up at 4:30ish to some pretty intense contractions that last until about 8:30 & that was it.  I guess she is just teasing me.

My family is coming down this weekend so we can do Christmas with them.  I'm super stoked because it will be my brother's first time to visit the Mr. and I since we moved into our house.  After the weekend, we get super busy with more holiday plans.

I hope you & yours have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  Let's not forget the reason we celebrate!  Hopefully my next post I will be introducing you to the baby!

It's Finally December!!

Thursday, December 2, 2010

I can't express how excited I am that we have finally reached December!  First of all, I absolutely love the holidays.  I'm a Christmas baby-December 20th, so it's always been my most favorite time of the year.  I love getting together with family and friends to reminisce about the year we had.  I love the smells of the holidays, the food, and celebrating the birth of Christ.

This year is extra special though because Miss Emma will be making her grand appearance into this world. The Mr. and I are so excited, anxious, and nervous.  We have now hit 37 weeks, so she could be here anytime now.  I went to the Dr. on Monday and we have now began the fantastic once a week appointments to be checked!  As of Monday, I am about 50% effaced, and just barely starting to dilate.  We go back again on the 6th for our last sonogram. I can't wait to see her-it's been too long since we last saw her sweet little face.  I'm anxious to see how big she is measuring and what the Dr. projects her weight to be.  We are praying for a healthy baby girl, but also for her to be here early.  I know that sounds selfish, but being a Christmas baby myself, I know what it's like for your birthday to be overshadowed by the holidays.   But I know the good Lord has a plan for her, and He is probably teaching me patience, so whenever He's wants her to get here, and whenever she is fully cooked-she will arrive!

But sweet Emma, Mommy & Daddy are ready for you. Whenever you are ready, we can't wait to meet you! We love you so much already!

Thanksgiving Fest

Wednesday, November 24, 2010

Since we just started our 9th month of this pregnancy, the hubs & I decided that it was probably best that we didn't make the 5 hour drive to Rock Springs, Texas for the Moore Thanksgiving.  This year, we are having my parents over for an early Thanksgiving, so they can head to their ranch first thing in the morning.

This morning Mom & I have been in the kitchen cooking up a storm.  Menu for tonight-chicken & dressing (my mom's is the best dressing in the state), mash potatoes, gravy, 4 cheese mac-n-cheese, salad, and Dr. Pepper cake.

By request, here is the recipe for the Dr. Pepper Cake!

Cake Ingredients
1 cup butter
1 cup Dr. Pepper
3 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar

Frost Ingredients
1 cup butter
3 tablespoons cocoa
6 tablespoons Dr. Pepper
1& 1/2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar

Preheat the oven to 350.
Cake:
-In saucepan, heat the butter, Dr. Pepper, and cocoa until boiling.  Remove from heat & cool.
-In mixing bowl, combine buttermilk, baking soda, vanilla, and eggs, mixing well.
-In a separate bowl, combine the flour and sugar.
-Combine all 3 mixtures until blended.
-Pour batter into a 9x13X2inch pan.
-Bake for 20-25 minutes.

Frosting:
-Combine butter, cocoa, and Dr. Pepper in a saucepan; bring to a simmer.
-Whisk sugar into mixture and remove from heat.

When the cake is done remove from oven and pierce hole throughout the cake with toothpick.  Then once cooled poor frosting over cake.

4 Cheese Mac-n-Cheese
Box of Velveeta Shell
2&1/2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese, gueryere cheese, and parmesan cheese
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sour cream
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, cut into pieces
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup whole milk
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon pepper

-Boil the pasta until tender & drain.
-In a sauce ban, mix butter and cheese; stir until cheese melts.
-Add sour cream, milt, salt, mustard, pepper, and eggs. Stir quickly & well so the eggs don't scramble.
-Put cooked pasta in baking dish, and pour cheese sauce on top & garnish with shredded cheddar cheese.
-Bake at 375 until golden brown.

I hope you and your family has a very blessed Thanksgiving.  We all have so much to be thankful for!

We Will Never Forget | 11.18.99| 2:42AM

Thursday, November 18, 2010

Today, all over the world the Aggie family remembers and mourns the loss of the 12 Aggies who died when bonfire fell 11 years ago. I was a freshman in high school when I heard about the collapse of bonfire, and I remember sitting in front of the TV for hours watching the news. At that moment I knew I wanted to be apart of the Aggie family. It's been said before about Texas A&M University, "From the outside looking in, you can't understand it.  And from the inside looking out, you can't explain it."

Venison Stew

Thursday, October 28, 2010

The temperature is falling, so I'm in the mood for some good comfort food.  Tonight we are having venison stew, one of my favorite meals, because it's taste so good, and not to mention quick and easy to make.

Ingredients
1 LG. can of tomato sauce
1 SM can of tomato sauce
1 can of Rotel ( I use HOT b/c I like my stew spicy)
1/2 bag frozen green beans
1/2 bag frozen corn
6 large carrots
5-6 red potatoes
1/2 white onion or onion powder will work too
garlic powder
venison or beef medallions

Brown your venison or beef and put in crock pot.  Cut all veggies into bite size pieces and add them in the crock pot.  Add tomato sauce & Rotel.  Add garlic powder.  Cook on high for 5-6 hours or until veggies are tender.

**Note-you can add whatever veggies you & your family like.  There is no limit!  It also freezes well!

Enjoy!

Good News!!!

Thursday, October 21, 2010

For the past two mornings, I've gotten really dizzy and clammy, so I decided to head to the Dr. this morning to make sure everything is going on okay.  We just got back from the Dr. I don't have gestational diabetes, so I'm creating enough insulin, but my body gets rid of the sugars in my food really rapidly, which causes my blood sugar level to drop-I'm conditional hypoglycemic.  The Dr. says I need to eat more..YAY...eat more smaller meals throughout the day.

Now for the REALLY good news......my due date has been moved!!! Baby Emma's new arrival date is now December 21st, the day after my birthday, and the day of the Moore Christmas party.  Ever since I found out I was having a December baby I told the mother-in-law that she would probably ruin the party, well not ruin, but interrupt it!  So here is a 31 week picture...

We are off to Crandall this weekend for Miss Emma's first shower!  I'm so excited about seeing all of my friends and family back at home.  It should be a great weekend!!! I hope you & yours have a wonderful one too!

29 weeks, Hunting, and Family-oh & the Bestie's 27th bday!

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

Miss Emma and I started 29 weeks today, only 11 more weeks until we see her pretty little face.  We went to the Dr. yesterday and she is doing great. I got two shots, 3 things of blood drawn, and my figure pricked, but I PASSED my glucose test, so it was a wonderful visit, despite all the needles.

Her room is finally finished-her rocker was delivered on Saturday and it is oh so comfortable!  I promise one of these days I will get pictures up.

I am so looking forward to the weekend and it's only Tuesday.  This weekend we are heading to my family's new ranch house in Doole, TX. They bought it back in May and finally finished the house, so the Mr and I are heading down there to move our furniture in our room.  The Mr is very excited about getting a little bow hunting in.  He wasn't very lucky opening weekend with his bow, so he's hoping this weekend is better.  I'm looking forward to getting out of the city for a little while and hang out with my family.  Some of our best memories are being at the ranch together.  Emma has ruined our hunting season, well that's what the men of the family say.  Since both of our ranches are so far from civilization we will only be going out there twice this deer season, because knowing my luck, I'd go into labor in the deer stand.  Needless to say Matt and I both are hoping to kill something each time we go, so we have enough venison to last us until next year. Here are a few of our favorite ranch pictures....

And last but not least, my best friend since 6th grade will be celebrating her 27th birthday this weekend! I cannot say enough about her-we have been through so much together, and sometimes I wonder how we lived through it all! :)  Abby, you are the greatest friend anyone could ever ask for!  Thanks for all of the fabulous memories thus far!  I hope you have a fabulous birthday!

25 Weeks & Ice Cream!

Monday, September 20, 2010

Baby E and I just finished week 25, only 14 more weeks until we see her sweet little face!

As you can tell my belly is growing more.  She is so active!  A few nights ago, I was drinking a glass of ice water, and every time I took a drink she would kick. I'm not talking a little kick, as far as the Mr & I are concerned E is a little ninja!  This went on for about 30 minutes and was by far the highlight of my week.

This past week my nesting took over.  I organized & cleaned out bathroom cabinets, pantry, kitchen cabinets, closets, and even the garage.  We will be having a garage sale soon! It's hard to think that we've only been in this house for little over a year & we have accumulated so much JUNK!

Emma's room for the most part is done.  We just have a few minor things to get up on the shelves!  Pics will come soon of her completed room.  Our rocker for her room should arrive in the next few weeks, which I'm so excited about.  The in-laws purchased it for us from Pottery Barn & it is the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in, so it will make those long nights a little more bearable.

I also had a life changing experience this week.  My sister -n- law had a great idea to go for ice cream one night, so we hit up one of the best places in Houston to get a shake, Sam's Deli.  I was planning on the usual chocolate shake, which I must say is heavenly, but I noticed they had a new Blue Bell flavor in, Butter Crunch. I settled on one scoop of Butter Crunch and I am hooked!  It's only a seasonal flavor, and thank goodness because I would be the size of our living room if they had it our year round.  If you haven't had it yet, I would highly recommend it!

Hope yall have a great week; I'm off to sit in front of my TV to watch my fall favorites with a bowl of my Butter Crunch!

Making Room for Baby

Thursday, August 19, 2010

So here are the pics thus far of E's room.  It's slowly but surely coming along.  I'll be heading to Canton in a few weeks to pick up last minute things.  I think we are almost ready for this baby.  Only 4 more months to go!!! We can't wait to meet her!

The crib-thanks to my sis-n-law, hubby, and mother for helping refinish it.

The dresser/changing table.  The Mr. had to fix the top drawer so that's why it's missing.

This will go above her crib. Probably my most favorite part of the room. Got it from The Back Porch Shoppe on Etsy.  I love it so much!

Crib with bedding.  The bumpers aren't finished; I just put them in there to get a feel of what it will look like.  Promise to post finished bumper pics soon!

E's room as of now-new rug & mobile.  The bed skirt is not even b/c it's not finished either, but you get the picture!

I am hoping to have the room completely finished by mid-September.  I can't wait to see it all come together!

Weeks 19 & 20

Friday, August 13, 2010

Since we were in Tahoe during week 19 I didn't get to post a picture.  I feel that I really started to pop out during vacation. My dear friend Kat requested it, so here it is for Ms. Kat-week 19.

Here is Week 20.  Emma is more active and the Mr. was able to feel her kick, which is the most incredible feeling in the world!  We are half way there!!!

Tahoe-The Perfect Babymoon Vacation

The Mr. and I headed out to Lake Tahoe for our final vacation as a family of two.  It was great to leave the Texas heat & enjoy highs in the 70's and lows in the 40's, with NO humidity!  We will definitely be returning in the years to come. Here are just a few of our favorite pictures!

17 Weeks

Thursday, July 22, 2010

The belly is growing daily!!! We ate at Roadhouse last night and our waitress was 7 months pregnant and just a little bit bigger than me-very jealous!

It's a Girl!!!

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

The Mr. & I went to the Dr. on Monday to find out that the precious little thing growing in my belly is a little girl! Matt couldn't really believe it, but there is no denying it.  She is perfect in every way.  So, for the very first time....Miss Emma Grace Moore

Sorry the picture is blurry, but trust me she is perfectly beautiful!

Needless to say our house has been crazy since we found out.  I have decided that I will keep myself busy during this pregnancy by making her bumper pads for her crib.  I really wanted something that's unique with a vintage feel, and you can't find that in any store. The mother--in-law and I went yesterday to pick out fabric.  We had a blast and found all of the perfect pieces.

If you know me at all you know I'm not into pink, but we managed to get a few pieces in there.  I'm so in love with the purples.  Everyone thinks I"m partly crazy because I'm going to piece together 2.5 by 2.5" squares for the bumpers, which is going to take a lot of time, oh but the things parents do for their children!!  Here is what it looks like laid out.  Hopefully I'll have one side all sewed together this afternoon!
